Yes, it is thunderous bullshit that NBC whitewashed dive-dude’s boyfriend out of their coverage. Resolved.

But I couldn’t help but notice this paragraph in the same post

According to OutSports.com, of the 10,708 athletes at the Olympics this year, just 10 have identified themselves publicly as being gay. Of the 10, Australian diver Matthew Mitcham is the only male gay athlete.

10 gay athletes? In a competition that not only includes male diving but women’s baseball? And, for that matter, France?

Back at school, we assumed that it was the women's basketball teams that were at least 50% gay. Our scientific source for this was the fact that we lived next to two apartments where I think 6 out of 8 girls were on the basketball team, and 5 out of those 6 were gay.

To this day, as soon as I see a woman wearing basketball shorts, I instantly mark her as a lesbian.

In these parts it's usually assumed that the women's handball team is about 50% gay. Taking a look at the Norwegian gold-medal winners therefore provides lots of fodder for the imagination of we lecherous drooling heterosexual males.
